BAT is the native currency of the Brave browser and aims to disrupt the ad business.
But why I am telling you this when you probably already know about it?
Well, because many of you are might be looking for a reliable BAT wallet, and I must say you are in the right place. It also seems that you believe in the long-term success of this project and expect BAT tokens to thrive.
I must say, so do I !!
I initially had some BAT tokens, but I don’t have any now. I still believe in the project and would have used the following wallets for the long term safety of your BAT tokens:
|Basic Attention Token (BAT) Wallets
|Ledger Nano X [Recommended]
|Android & iOS Wallet Apps
|Coinomi & Trust Wallet
Best BAT Wallets in 2021
#1. Ledger Nano X
For those of you who don’t know, Ledger Nano X is the new hardware wallet device manufactured by Ledger SAS company.
Ledger SAS is an expert in developing security solutions for digital assets and has been doing so since 2015. This newly launched hardware wallet superior to its precursor, i.e. Ledger Nano S.
Thinking of getting a Ledger wallet? Know Ledger Nano X vs S – The differences
Ledger Nano X comes with Bluetooth features using which you can easily connect your iOS and Android devices. It also has a battery that can last upto hours once charged.
The wallet is capable of storing 1000+ cryptocurrencies, including BAT tokens, and one can easily use 100 currencies at a time on the actual device because of its increased in-built memory.
Lastly, it is a self-hosted wallet that gives you seed through which you can control all of your funds, including BAT tokens on the Ledger Nano X device.
Do you want to use web wallets for your BAT tokens?
Here is one for you.
I have been using MyEtherWallet (aka MEW) since 2017, and I still keep a few of my ERC20 tokens on it. I don’t have any BAT tokens, but MEW is suitable for BAT as it is also an ERC20 token.
Moreover, it is a non-custodial wallet that gives you the JSON keystore file or the seed so that you can backup your wallet for the long term.
The good thing is, MEW easily integrates with Ledger Nano X devices. This way, you get the best of both worlds, i.e. the software interface of MEW along with the safety of hardware infrastructure.
As of now, MEW supports the main Ether currency and all the ERC20 tokens, so if you are looking for a reliable web wallet for your BAT tokens, MEW is the one.
If you like good design and elegant UI-UX, Exodus wallet is for.
Exodus is easily the best desktop wallet for cryptocurrencies, and as of now, it supports 100+ coins/tokens including the BAT tokens.
It is an HD wallet that provides you the private keys/seed so that you remain in control of your funds. But losing this seed would be equivalent to losing all of your holdings, so make sure you store them properly.
The pie-chart representation of the crypto portfolio looks elegant when you Exodus for the first time. But this elegance hasn’t made them compromise anywhere in their security.
The wallet is completely free and easily integrates with the Trezor hardware wallet. Moreover, the wallet has an in-built exchange system that allows you to convert one crypto to another.
As of now, Exodus is available for Mac, Windows, & Linux systems. Their mobile apps are also available, but I haven’t used the apps yet.
Coinomi is a popular multi-currency wallet that supports 130+ cryptocurrencies and tokens including BAT. So if you are looking for something reliable in the mobile wallet category for BAT, go for the Coinomi wallet.
The wallet is serving the cryptosphere since 2015 and has made a decent name for it. The development team is competent and is usually the first in bringing out support for forked coins.
The wallet is based out of London, the UK, and continues to serve a large user base with testifies its usability.
I have used the Coinomi wallet almost for a year to store small amounts of LTC and Gamecoin currency, and I found out that their support team is swift.
The wallet is a non-custodial HD wallet and has an in-built exchange for helping you exchange your BAT tokens to other coins in times of extreme volatility without going through exchanges.
#5. Trust Wallet
Trust wallet is another multi-currency wallet that’s capable of storing 30+ cryptocurrencies including ERC20 tokens such as ERC20 tokens.
The wallet came to the crypto party in 2017 and in 2018 got acquired by the Binance company due to its excellent development team. Since then, the Trust wallet has accelerated its development efforts, and it’s trying to become the go-to multi-cryptocurrency wallet for crypto users.
Being a non-custodial wallet Trust wallet gives you the seed through which you can control all of your crypto assets stored on it. As of now, the wallet is available for iOS and Android devices and is continuously adding support for more coins/tokens.
Lastly, the wallet has an in-built exchange in the mobile app itself. This helps you to exchange BAT tokens to other coins/tokens whenever you need it without going through the exchanges.
Conclusion: Basic Attention Token Wallet
Now, I believe you must have got an idea of the best basic attention token wallets available in the market in all the categories.
However, I am less supportive of web and software wallets because they are prone to attacks. But any day they are better than storing your BAT on centralized exchanges.
